This base layer from Montane is constructed of Sportwool – a mix of merino wool and polyester. Quite a few manufacturers are now using similar fabrics for baselayer wicking garments. The Montane Bionic T-shirt itself is a relatively basic design but it does have the addition of reflective piping that will be attractive to runners and cyclists.
Fabrics like the Sportwool used in this Montane base layer that are based on merino wool don’t have the same odour problems as pure polyester based wicking tops which has got to be a bonus for all those round about you.
All of this is reflected though in the price. At £30 the Bionic T-shirt is not the most expensive base layer you can buy but it is enough for you to notice the price.
